Early life and education
Tyler was raised in Charlotte by his mother who had to work two jobs to support herself and Tyler after her husband left her when Tyler was only two years old. Tyler became interested in clothes and fashion at a very early age watching his mother dress up for work and for going out and he would often give her advice. When he enrolled at high school, he became even more interested in fashion working with his peers and coming up with new ideas and while he was attending 11th grade, he decided to drop out of school and pursue a career as a fashion designer.
He was physically active while attending high school playing football and basketball but only because he believed this would help him have better grades and finish school with ease.
Career as a fashion designer
After leaving school, he started working at a grocery store to have enough money for himself as well as to help his mother. He eventually took online courses, obtaining his General Education Diploma (GED) in 2013.
In 2014 Tyler moved to New York City, hoping to make some progress in his career, and started working for the ASAP Mob hip hop collective as their assistant. ASAP Mob was formed in 2006 by ASAP Bari, ASAP Rams, and ASAP Illz, while its members today are rappers, music video directors, record producers, as well as fashion designers.
Tyler spent nearly a year with them before deciding to venture out alone, creating his own brand called Superrradical – the clothes he creates are mostly influenced by rock bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Doors. Tyler enjoys spending his free time outdoors riding a skateboard, or just having a beer with his friends, he also likes partying, and is a regular guest at several clubs around Los Angeles.
