The Wealth of Makenzie Moss

As of mid-2020, Makenzie Moss’ net worth is estimated to be over $100,000, earned through a relatively short but successful career in the acting profession. She’s been active for at least five years, and while she has focused on film work, she has also done numerous commercials too.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Makenzie grew up in Los Angeles and at a very young age showed an inclination towards the performing arts. Being so near to the professional acting industry, her parents supported her when she became interested in acting. She grew up alongside an older sister, and took up gymnastics lessons which built her confidence. She also loved to sing and dance, which would contribute to her love for performing.

Eventually, she started attending auditions around the area, and made her debut in a commercial for Mott’s for Tots – the company Mott’s is known for producing various apple-based products such as sauces and juices. It dates its history back to 1842 when its founder Samuel R. Mott started making apple vinegar and apple cider.

The company is currently owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper though it operates as a separate unit, having been owned by several big companies after its merger with the WB Duffy Cider Company. In 2010, the company attracted a lot of attention due to issues with its labor wages.

Breakthrough – Steve Jobs

In 2015, Moss was cast to be a part of the biographical film “Steve Jobs”, about the titular co-founder of Apple Inc. The film takes inspiration from various interviews with Jobs as well as the Walter Isaacson written biography about the late business magnate. The film had been in production for around four years before they started to film, with an ensemble cast, and Fassbender portraying Jobs.

Later in the year, the film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, and received critical acclaim. People who were close to Jobs praised the performances in the film, though it was also criticized for its historical inaccuracy. Nevertheless, the film won numerous awards, including Fassbender and Winslet gaining Oscar nominations for their performances.

The film covers 14 years of Jobs’ life from 1984 to 1998. In the film, Moss portrayed a younger version of Lisa Brennan, the daughter of Jobs, who gained a lot of attention during her youth due to Jobs initially denying paternity of her. It escalated to a point that a legal case had to be made before Jobs admitted he was the father.

The two later reconciled, and he accepted her as a daughter. One of Apple’s earliest computers was named Apple Lisa.

God Bless the Broken Road

A few years after her appearance in “Steve Jobs”, Makenzie was cast in the Christian film “God Bless the Broken Road”, which is based on the 1998 song of the same name. The song is known to have been covered by several popular country music artists, though the film itself is a loose interpretation of the song. It tells the story of a woman who loses her husband during the war in Afghanistan, and deals with her coping with the loss. Other stars of the film included Andrew Walker, Lindsay Pulsipher, Robin Givens, and Kim Delaney.

The film took around a year to produce and film, and was released alongside “Peppermint” and “The Nun” at the box office. It didn’t fare well at the box office, not even meeting its projections, ultimately leading it to bomb losing around $600,000. The film also gained generally unfavorable reviews from aggregator websites such as Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. Many of the negative reviews come for the direction, with the story being told with poor pacing and focused more on its message, neglecting the other things which makes films successful.

Recent Work – The Unicorn

Moss’ recent project is the television series “The Unicorn”, a sitcom that began airing on CBS in 2019. She stars in the film alongside Walton Goggins, Rob Corddry, Michaela Watkins, and Omar Miller, in the story of a widowed father who is left with his two daughters, and who is then encouraged by his friends to try dating once more. She plays the role of the younger daughter in the family, with Ruby Jay playing the older daughter. She was not a part of the pilot but was later cast once the show was ordered. The film has received positive reviews, with critics regarding it as funny and warm. After its initial success, a second season was ordered.

Aside from her regular work, she’s also made guest appearances in various popular television shows, and supporting roles in films. These include “Pup Star: World Tour”, “Puppy Star Christmas”, “About a Boy”, and “Blunt Talk”.
