The Wealth of Wanda Hutchins

As of early-2020, Wanda Hutchins’ net worth is estimated to be over $2 million, earned through success in her various endeavors. One notable factor in her wealth is the divorce settlement from Strahan, as her former husband has a net worth estimated to be over $65 million, earned through many high-valued contracts in the NFL.

Life With Strahan

Wanda grew up in Germany and was a childhood friend of Strahan. He and his family moved to Germany from the US due to his father’s work in the military, as he was an Army Major. They resided in Benjamin Franklin Village, Mannheim, West Germany where the two would become close friends. He later returned to the US, embarking on a path to a prospective American Football career but constantly came back to Germany for her, leading the two to eventually start dating.

Her life and their relationship has mostly been kept away from the spotlight.

They married just a year before he was drafted into the NFL, and he used the money he gained from his initial contract to bring her to the US. They had two children during their marriage which lasted for four years. They lived in a home in Houston, near his parents. While it has never been specified, one of the reasons why their relationship likely broke apart is due to his busy career as a professional American Footballer meant that he was mostly away from home, and their relationship slowly broke apart. Since then, she has faded back into obscurity.

Husband – Michael Strahan

Michael wasn’t initially involved in playing American Football, but developed an interest in it during his senior year when he attended a US Department of Defense-sponsored high school, the Mannheim American High School (MAHS).

There he was invited to become a part of the school’s team, the Bisons, playing with them in 1985. His one season in high school was enough for him to gain the attention of Texas Southern University, who offered him a sports scholarship.

One of the reasons he was scouted was because of his American Football lineage, as his uncle played in that university and then in the NFL. During college, Michael became a dominant force in the field, so much so that many offenses struggled with him on the field. By his junior year he had become an NFL prospect, though he continued with his senior year when he was touted by many as an early pick in the NFL Draft.

His defense was strong and he led many college statistics during his time.

NFL Career – Michael Strahan

In 1993, Strahan was selected in the NFL Draft by the New York Giants, but missed most of his rookie season due to injuries. Over the next few years he didn’t fare well either, as he had difficulty adjusting with his recovery and the highly competitive nature of the NFL. Four years into his NFL career, he achieved his breakthrough season in which he recorded 14 sacks, leading him to his first Pro Bowl vote. This success proved useful in the successive seasons, as he helped his team reach Super Bowl XXXV in 2000.

Despite being considered a heavy favorite to win the Super Bowl, they struggled against the Baltimore Ravens who held them off with a strong lead. After this successful run, he had contract disagreements with the Giants but ultimately re-signed with them, continuing his strong defensive streak with the team as he was named the 2001 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, setting the record of 22.5 sacks in a single season. He set a new franchise record for career sacks and completed his run with one final season in 2006 to break the record, eventually totaling 141 sacks. He then announced his retirement to the media.

Life After the NFL – Michael Strahan

In 2008 Strahan was hired by Fox to become a part of their pre-game show “Fox NFL Sunday”, joining other analysts. He became the host of “Fox NFL Thursday” later on, and while working with Fox, he has also appeared in other shows such as “Live! With Regis and Kelly”, and when Regis Philbin exited the show, he was selected to become the new co-host with Kelly Ripa. His work with the show helped its ratings significantly, and he stayed there for seven years until he was offered work on “Good Morning America”.

He became a part of a new spin-off, originally called “GMA Day” before it was changed to “Strahan, Sara, and Keke” to showcase the three main hosts, himself, Keke Palmer, and Sara Haines. He also hosted a revival of “The $100,000 Pyramid” which has been airing for five seasons. Apart from his regular work, he has also appeared as a guest for other television projects; he was a guest during the sixth season of the improvisation show “Wild ‘n Out”, and also made a cameo appearance in the 2019 film “Charlie’s Angels”.

Personal Life

After Wanda’s divorce from Michael, it is not known if she stayed in the US or returned to Germany with her children. There are also no details if she remarried and of any later career endeavors after their divorce. Her former husband later married Jean Muggli but whom he divorced after two years of marriage, leading to a big settlement of around $15 million. Later on, he became engaged to the ex-wife of Eddie Murphy, Nicole Mitchell, but the wedding was called off after five years. Since then, there has been no reports of any new relationships on his end.
