Life So Far

Steve Austin met Kristin sometime during the late 2000s, and she was already familiar with him as his wrestling career preceded him. At the time, he was already a few years away from his last divorce, but he was known to have had several notable relationships, including three marriages which ended in divorce. He had also been subject to several domestic violence allegations, which he admitted that he later regretted. He served community service and was under probation in one case against his former wife, former professional wrestler Debra.

Steve was also alleged to have alcohol problems, though it was more of an assumption due to his alcohol drinking persona in-ring, and he denied multiple times that he had any drinking problems. The two married in 2009 after a few years together, and she has been credited multiple times by her husband as the one who’s helped turn his life around. She’s helped in managing a property in Nevada, a ranch her husband owns, and also with another ranch in Texas for many years before it was sold.

During college, he became increasingly interested in a career in professional wrestling. He began training at the Dallas Sportatorium, a known wrestling events area in Dallas, and trained under Chris Adams who is known to wrestle under the name Gentleman Chris Adams.

He became a very technical wrestler, learning various moves and a bit about the business. He appeared in a few local shows and had some small paydays. He was then named Steve Austin when he joined the Continental Wrestling Association (CWA), competing mainly with that promotion and the United States Wrestling Association (USWA).

WCW and ECW

In 1991, Steve joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) which was one of the biggest wrestling promotions at the time, rivaling WWF. He was partnered with wrestler Jeannie Adams also known as Lady Blossom, a woman who would later be one of his former wives.

He gained his first championship in WCW, and became known as Stunning Steve Austin. He partnered with Brian Pillman and the two formed the tag team The Hollywood Blonds, and they would later win a championship, but he later feuded with Pillman after his return to injury. One of his last matches with WCW was in a tournament for the heavyweight championship, in which he was eliminated during the quarter-finals.

After the end of his run with the promotion, he was hired by Paul Heyman to work for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), and started as an interviewer as he was still recovering from an injury. During his time there, he began working on his most popular persona, Stone Cold.

He also began focusing on developing his skills on the microphone, and Heyman helped him in his promo work. During his short time there, he was known as Superstar Steve Austin.

Success in Wrestling – Stone Cold Steve Austin

In 1995, Steve signed with WWF and debuted as The Ringmaster, which wasn’t a very successful gimmick. He developed a storyline feud with company owner Vince McMahon which were some of the most memorable years of the promotion.
