Who is Eric Lloyd?

American actor and musician David Eric Lloyd Morelli was born in Glendale, California USA, on 19 May 1986, making Taurus his zodiac sign. He’s had roles in 38 TV series and movies, and is probably still known best for starring as Charlie Calvin in the 1994 family comedy movie “The Santa Clause”, directed by John Pasquin, and which also starred Tim Allen, Judge Reinhold and Wendy Crewson. It follows a man who’s caused Santa to fall off his roof, and has now been magically recruited as the new Santa; the film won two of its 11 award nominations.

Eric’s still today active in the film industry, and is currently working on several upcoming projects.

Education and early life

Eric was raised alongside his sister Emily Ann Lloyd in Glendale, by their mother Melissa Rogers and David Morelli, however, not a lot is known about Eric’s family, as he’s respective of their privacy; it’s known that his sister appeared in 16 TV series and movies prior to retiring from acting in 1999, while she’s perhaps still known best for playing Susan Lovell in the critically acclaimed 1995 historical adventure movie “Apollo 13”.

Eric was thrown into acting at the age of two, when cast to play Young Kevin Arnold in the 1989 episode “Brightwing” of the hit family comedy series “The Wonder Years”, which Neal Marlens and Carol Black created, and which starred Fred Savage, Dan Lauria and Alley Mills. It follows the growing up of Kevin Arnold in the ‘70s, the series aired from 1988 through 1993 and won 26 of its 96 award nominations. Eric’s since been active in the film industry.

He studied at a local high school in Los Angeles, California and upon matriculating in 2004 continued to act, rather than to pursue a college degree; Eric eventually enrolled at Chapman University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree four years later.

Roles in TV series

The year 1992 saw Eric play one of the main characters Leo Hill in all the 10 episodes of the comedy “Laurie Hill”, created by Carol Black and Neal Marlens, and which also starred DeLane Matthews and Robert Clohessy; it follows the lives of dedicated mother and doctor Laurie Hill, her husband Jeff and their son Leo, and the series won one of its two award nominations.

The year 1993 saw Eric play Johnny in the episode “I Love a Parade” of the romantic comedy “Love & War”, and from 1998 through 2000, he starred as Little John Warner in the comedy “Jesse”, which Ira Ungerleider created, and which starred Liza Snyder, Jennifer Milmore and Christina Applegate. It follows a single mother who’s trying to get her father to like her new boyfriend Diego, and the series won 12 of its 20 award nominations.

Eric had only a single TV series role in the 2000s, portraying Martin Leanly in the 2001 episode “Rampage’ of the romantic drama “ER”.

His following role came in 2011, when cast to play Xander Falls in the romantic comedy “About Abby”, which starred Keghan Hurst, Ashley Reign and Gabe Pasillas, and follows an optimist as she’s searching for love in Los Angeles, California.

Eric’s since appeared in only a single TV series, reprising his role as Charlie in the 2022 episode “Chapter Two: The Secessus Clause” of the family comedy mini-series “The Santa Clauses”.

Roles in movies

Eric made his debut film appearance in the hit 1993 fantasy comedy “Heart and Souls”, which Ron Underwood directed, and starred Alfre Woodard, Charles Grodin and Robert Downey Jr. It follows an unhappy businessman as he’s helping fulfill four ghosts’ last wishes, and the movie won one of its 11 award nominations.

A couple of Eric’s following roles were in the 1993 crime horror “A Family Torn Apart”, the 1993 short drama “Sunny’s Deliverance” and the 1994 crime drama “In the Best of Families: Marriage, Pride & Madness”. The year 1995 saw him play Matthew in the drama “Abandoned and Deceived”, written and directed by Joseph Dougherty, and which starred Lori Loughlin, Brian Kerwin and Farrah Forke. It follows a single mother of two who’s sued her former husband for not paying alimony for their two sons. Some of Eric’s roles in the remainder of the ‘90s were in the 1996 family adventure comedy “Dunston Checks In”, and in 1997 the action science fiction “Batman & Robin” and the family drama “A Christmas Memory”.

He had only two film roles in the 2000s, appearing in the 2002 family fantasy comedy “The Santa Clause 2” and its 2006 sequel “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause”.

Eric portrayed Geeky Lackey in the 2011 horror “Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2”, written and directed by Robert Hall, and which starred Brian Austin Green, Thomas Dekker and Mimi Michaels. It follows ChromeSkull who’s determined to bring terror and destruction to a small US town, and the film was nominated for a 2012 Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Makeup/Creature FX.

Eric’s since appeared in only two movies: the 2017 drama “Weedland” and the 2021 comedy “Comic Conventions”.

Eric received special thanks for the 2011 documentary movie “Inside Story: The Santa Clause” and the 2014 short comedy film “No One But Lydia”.

He’s worked as a sound designer and mixer on 10 TV series and movies, most recently on the 2020 short horror movies “Grandpa: The Horror” and “Diable En Boite”, and the 2021 short comedy film “Trixie”.

He and American medic and film producer Lisa Marie Tasker began dating on 12 September 2015, but it was only in April 2017 that Lisa used her social media presence to reveal that the two were in a relationship. She’s worked as a medic on two movies: the 2020 action thriller “The Old Guard” and the 2022 romantic drama “Downton Abbey: A New Era”.

Eric’s yet to speak about other girls whom he’s possibly been with, he’s in a long-term relationship with Lisa Marie Tasker as of April 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Eric’s followed by close to 15,000 people on Instagram and has posted over 300 pictures and videos, while most of these are related to music; he’s passionate about pop and rock ‘n’ roll, and his favorite performer’s the late Elvis Presley.

He likes to play video games in his spare time, and some of his favorites are “Hollow Knight”, “Sackboy” and “Hades”.

Eric’s favorite season is summer, as he likes to relax at the beach and swim in the ocean.
