Early life, family, and education
Born on 31 October 1959, Michael’s zodiac sign is Scorpio, and he’s aged 63 as of May 2023. He is a native of The Bronx, New York City USA, he holds American nationality and he comes from a family of Italian and Puerto Rican descent. He was raised by his parents, Arthur DeLorenzo, an Italian, and Puerto Rican mother Carmen, who sadly both died early. Michael has three siblings, a sister and two brothers, whose names he hasn’t shared since he respects their privacy.
Michael was into dancing from an early age, and performed as a dancer with Ballet Hispanico, founded by Tina Ramirez; he later received scholarships from the School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and the New York School of Ballet. The movie had 16 award nominations and won seven, including two Oscars for Best Music, Original Song, and Best Music, Original Score.
In 1985, Michael was cast to play Caesar Lopez in the musical drama “Fast Forward”, directed by Sidney Poitier, and followed with roles in “Fatal Beauty” (1987), “Satisfaction” (1988), and “Cold Dog Soup” (1990).

The early ‘90s saw Michael playing support roles in movies such as “Diggstown” (1992), “Alive” (1993), “Somebody to Love” (1994), and “My Family” (1995). His first lead role came in the 1998 drama “Zero Stress”, written and directed by Daniel Demorest, which although had no nominations was well-rated by the audience (7.9/10). Later that year, Michael was cast to play Luis in the TV movie “The Wall”, which earned him a nomination for the American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Award for Outstanding Actor in Made-for-Television Movie or Mini-Series.
