Early life and education
Molly was raised a single child in Philadelphia by her Jewish parents – her father, William was a firefighter, while her mother Nina was working as a secretary at a local firm. Molly grew up being interested in acting, making her debut theatre play appearance at the age of seven at the Bucks County Playhouse. After turning 12, she started appearing in professional plays performed by both Arden Theatre Company and at the Prince Music Theatre.
Molly was physically active while attending high school, playing soccer and lacrosse, and she was interested in a variety of other things such as music, books, and creative writing.
Upon matriculation, she enrolled at Princeton University in New Jersey, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies in 2008, but also taking part in various productions of the University Players.
