Early life and education
Claire was raised in the USA, and became interested in theatre at a very early age, often watching plays with her parents, while she was practicing acting in her room in front of a mirror, hoping to become an actress herself.
She was very active while attending high school, as she appeared in several school plays, played several sports, and was frequently going to the movies and to the theatre. Upon matriculation, Claire enrolled at a college graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1986 and did not get to launch her career as an actress.
Claire’s career
Upon receiving her degree, Claire began working at the California Shakespeare Theater located in Orinda as their house manager, and held the position for several years before being invited to work as a teacher at an elementary school in Oakland, California. She has been teaching for over 15 years now, and is planning on retiring in 2021.
Love life and relationships
Claire met Kazembe Ajamu, born as Samuel David Coleman, in 1990 while working at the theatre. The two did not start dating until 1994, as Kazembe was married at the time. They married in 1995, and Claire gave birth to Zendaya on 1 September 1996 and she is their only daughter although sources say that Claire has five other children. Actually she was a step-mother to five of Kazembe’s children from his past marriage, who are called Kaylee, Annabella, Austin, Katianna, and Julien. After Kazembe stopped spending time with Zendaya and Claire and started living at another location, Claire filed for divorce in August 2016 which was finalized in February 2017.
