Who is Lisa Ryder?

Lisa Ryder is a Canadian actress who is perhaps best known to the world as Beka Valentine in the TV sci-fi action-drama series “Andromeda” (2000-2005), while most recently she has been recognized as Agent Hewes in the TV sci-fi action-adventure series “Endlings” (2020), in addition to other appearances.

Lisa Ryder was born on the 26th October 1970, in Edmonton, Alberta Canada; she hasn’t revealed anything about her parents, or if she has any siblings. Lisa became interested in the performing arts at an early age, joining the Edmonton Studio of Ballet as a child.

As she got older, her love for dancing increased, but it was when she enrolled at university that she switched her focus to acting. She attended the University of Toronto, and signed up for drama classes and it was then that she fell in love with acting, and continued on to pursue it as a career.

Before making her debut on stage, Lisa started the theatre group Bald Ego Productions, with some of her friends and colleagues. While working with them, she was writing plays and displaying her dancing talents, as she was in the main creating choreographies. Lisa made her acting debut in 1994 with a minor role in the TV series “Kung Fu: The Legend Continues”, while the following year she had her first regular role as Det.

Tracy Vetter in the TV horror crime-drama series “Forever Knight”, joining the already established cast in the show’s last season. After this, Lisa continued with a few notable appearances, first as Kim in the sci-fi mystery film “City of Dark” (1997), also starring Carlo Rota and Beatriz Pizano, while in 1998 she starred in the comedy crime-drama film “Stolen Heart”.
