Her mother was working as the USA Treasurer, and her signature could have been seen on the money printed between 28 January 1953 and 29 January 1961.

Pat attended Washington Lee High School located in Arlington, Virginia, where she first became interested in acting, but also became a model while attending her final year there. She continued her education at Marjorie Webster Junior College, graduating in 1958.

Career as an actress

Pat served as a page girl during the Republic National Convention held in 1952, and she spent the following years working as a model appearing in commercials and several plays.

She started appearing in theatre plays in the second half of the ’50s, such as “The Tender Trap” and “Bus Stop”, and then launched her TV career in 1957 when she guest starred in the series “Perry Mason”, which was followed by her appearance in the series “The Virginian” in 1964. In the same year, she appeared in the show “Bewitched”, and made uncredited appearances in two films “Looking for Love” and “Quick, Before It Melts”.

She was then contacted by her agent who told her she might be an excellent replacement for Beverley Owen who was portraying Marilyn Munster in the series “The Munsters” before she married and left the show. The two girls resembled each other that much that most people who were watching the show didn’t realize that the actress had changed. The series stars Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis, and Yvonne De Carlo and follows a family of monsters in their little adventures and misadventures.

In 1966, Pat was supposed to play Marilyn once more in the comedy film “Munster, Go Home!” but the producers believed she was too old for the role, which eventually went to Debbie Watson.

She starred alongside Elvis Presley in the adventure comedy film “Easy Come, Easy Go” in 1967, which also stars Dodie Marshall and follows Ted Jackson (Elvis) who works as a singer and a deep sea diver, and who finds a treasure during one of his dives. The year 1970 saw her appear in a single episode of the series “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, while she was in a lead role in the horror movie “The Incredible 2-Headed Transplant”, alongside Bruce Dern and Casey Kasem.

She retired shortly after these roles, and started working as a restaurateur in Idaho where she has been living for more than 20 years now.

Pat had health issues in 2001 when it was discovered that she had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was eventually removed at St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute.

Love life and relationships

Pat met her first husband Pierce Andrew Jensen Jr. while attending high school in 1952, and the two dated for over three years before marrying on 20 August 1955. She gave birth to their son Lance Jensen on 29 August 1958, and their second son Pierce Jensen followed on 10 July 1960. It is widely believed that Pat’s fame was a problem for her husband, who apparently became overly jealous, which eventually led to their divorce on 4 March 1967.

Some years later she met Frederick Hansing, a businessman, and they married on 5 December 1981, an event attended by the two’s closest friends and family. They don’t have any children together, and there are no rumors nor controversies surrounding their marriage.

It is believed that Pat was romantically linked to several actors alongside whom she played in various movies and TV series, but she hasn’t addressed these rumors.

Hobbies and other interests

Pat was interested in modelling during her teenage years, but always looked at it as her hobby, although she competed in the Norfolk Azalea Pageant in 1954, winning it.

She has been eating healthy food since she was a young girl, avoiding fast food, alcohol, and cigarettes as this was not good for her ‘modelling hobby’. She has her own favorites when it comes to actors and actresses, some of whom are Robin Williams, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts, while some of her favorite movies include “Patch Adams”, “Dead Poets Society”, and “Runaway Bride”.

Pat has been interested in doing charity work since she started acting, and has donated money to several organizations, and has as well volunteered with some.

She is a lover of animals and has had many pets including dogs, cats and birds, while her favorites are horses and swans. Pat enjoys spending her free time surrounded by children, and is also keen on reading with her favorite writers being Ernest Hemingway and William Shakespeare.
