After she finished her High school, she enrolled at the University where she studied artwork and following graduation, she began her acting career. Before her graduation, Selenis engaged in many off-Broadway productions and made her television debut in 1999 when she landed a part in the reality TV series titled Law & Order. She made her film debut when she was featured in the film titled Debutante at 2000. The gifted performer has featured in Many movies such as Maria Full of Grace at 2004, Sex and the City two in 2010, Man in the Mirror at 2011, and Living with the Dead at 2014. She starred together with Viola Davis from the court drama titled Custody in 2016 and 2017 film titled Spider-Man: Homecoming. Selenis obtained her breakthrough once she combined the Netflix team and was a dominant figure in the manufacturing ‘s comedy-drama series titled Orange is the New Black from 2013 to gift. She’s also starred in other television series such as Law & Order since 1999, ” The Sopranos at 2006, New Amsterdam in 2008, The fantastic Wife in 2010, Blue Bloods in 2011 to 2012, Women in 2012, Elementary at 2012, along with Madam Secretary at 2015. While they were growing up, Marizol had problems blending with other kids and this gave Selenis a fantastic concern. The boys would constantly induce her to play soccer together so that she could act more manly but she wasn’t getting together with them. After Marizol was sixteen years old, she opened that she was homosexual but that wasn’t all. When she was two years old, Marizol began her transgender process and at June 2015, she came out openly as a transgender woman. Selenis has ever encouraged LGBT community and if she found that her sister was a transgender, she never failed to give her the support she desired. The transition wasn’t a simple instant for Marizol, she handed depression, rejection, and despise before she had been accepted for who she is. Marizol is presently a transgender Latina version, a cook, and human rights activist.
