Early life and education
Jacob was raised as an only child in London by his Guyanese father, Taylor Scipio who is a film director and writer, and his British mother who is a housewife. He got to launch his career at a very early age, as his parents allowed him to appear in a single episode of the series “Bambino Mio” when he was only nine months old.
Jacob studied at St. Michael’s Church of England Primary School at which he continued acting, appearing in nearly all the plays performed at the school – he went on to attend Fortismere School located in Muswell Hill, at which he played soccer and baseball while he also practiced his acting skills in both the school and at the local theatre.
Upon matriculation in 2011, Jacob enrolled at the University of Essex, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and literature in 2015.
Roles in TV series
Jacob’s following role came in 2002 when he was nine years old, invited to play two supporting characters in the episodes “The Return of Magid Iqbal” and “The Temptation of Samad Iqbal” of the drama comedy mini-series “White Teeth”, which starred Om Puri, Phil Davis and Naomie Harris, and is about a girl who is thinking about committing suicide but who changes her mind after meeting Clara. The series was a success, winning three awards and being nominated for three others.

In 2006, Jacob guest starred as Kris Slattery in the episode “Quality Time” of the drama “Holby City”, and two years later he played Kerwhizzitor, one of the lead characters in the game show “Kerwhizz”, which features three people racing with their supernatural sidekicks while only one can be the winner of a prize. Jacob gained recognition in 2007 when he was invited to star as Bip in six episodes of the short comedy series “As the Bell Rings”, and while he was praised for his performance, the series received mostly negative reviews. In 2013, he portrayed Tyler Blaine in three episodes of the comedy series “Some Girls”, which starred Adelayo Adedayo and Natasha Jonas and was quite popular in the UK and the US.
Two years later, he played the supporting character Lewis in the comedy mystery series “Dixi”. Then guest starred in a single episode of the comedy drama “Dani’s Castle”. In 2018 he was invited to voice his first character in a TV series, the comedy “Damned”, but which failed to attract much attention.
Jacob’s most recent role in a whole series has been in the animated family drama “Bob the Builder”, in which he voiced Leo from 2015 to 2018. The series starred Rob Rackstraw, Kate Harbour and Lorelei King, and follows Bob and his machine friends who are able to solve whatever problems they are presented with – curiously, although popular during the 20 years of its airing, “Bob the Builder” was only nominated for a single award.

Jacob made his debut film appearance in 2012, when cast to portray Louis in the short drama “Undefeated”, written and directed by Tudor Payne and which starred Samuel Anderson, Alex Austin and James Bradshaw. The story follows a girl who is living in London, fighting to survive on her own.
In 2016, Jacob starred as Kane in the short drama “Cowboys & Angels” which he also wrote, and also starred Thailah Newton and Sid Owen – the film follows a mute child who is visited by an angel who wants to help him cope with the fact that he has to live with his alcoholic dad.
In 2017, Jacob voiced Leo in the animated action adventure movie “Bob The Builder: Mega Machines”, which failed to attract much attention, then in 2018 he portrayed Sonar 2 in the action thriller “Hunter Killer”, which starred Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman and is about a captain of a submarine who is working with the US Navy Seals to save the Russian president from his kidnappers – the film won a South African Society of Cinematographers Visible Spectrum Award for Best Feature Film Gold Certificate.
Jacob went on to play the lead character Chris in the short comedy “The Writers Group”, which he wrote and which was directed by his father, and later that year he was invited to voice three characters in the animated adventure comedy “Strike”. Three of Jacob’s most recent roles in movies have been in the action crime drama “We Die Young” written and directed by Lior Geller and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and the short drama “What You Will” in which he starred as Zac both in 2019, and the 2020.action drama “The Outpost”, starring Orlando Bloom.
Jacob has recently finished shooting for the upcoming action thriller movie “Last Looks”, while he has also been cast to play Hatchet in the upcoming action adventure crime film “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse”, set to be released on 26 February 2021.
Love life and relationships
Jacob is very secretive when it comes to his love life, and prefers to keep the details of his personal life to himself, however, it is widely known that he is in a relationship on Instagram with a girl known as Liv Lovelle. The two first began uploading pictures of themselves together onto the internet in mid-2019, and there have since been no rumors or controversies surrounding the relationship – Liv is a singer and a model from London, who gained recognition in 2017 after the release of her single “Won’t Say Too Much”.
Before it was revealed that Jacob is dating Liv, many people believed Jacob to be gay, as he hadn’t been seen in women’s company, while two of his fans have even claimed to have seen Jacob being rather too close to a male friend at a club in London.

Jacob is physically very active, as he has five to six training sessions at the gym each week thus his muscular body, and he is also following a somewhat strict diet, but eats plenty of fruits, vegetables and meat.
He likes to travel, and his career as an actor has made it possible for him to visit many European countries while he has also been to the US and Asia on multiple occasions – his dream travel destination is Venice in Italy.
