Childhood and education
Deaken was raised an only child in Sun City, by his father who was a construction worker and his mother who taught English at a local high school. After he became interested in acting, the family moved to Los Angeles in California, so that Deaken would have better chances to launch his acting career.
He attended a local elementary school, and was a member of its drama club, appearing in nearly all the plays performed there, then went on to practice acting at a local theatre, also appearing in several plays performed there too. He enrolled at a Los Angeles high school in 2010, and was physically very active as he played soccer, football and tennis, and during his senior year started training at a gym – Deaken matriculated in 2014, and then chose not to attend college but to focus on becoming a famous actor.
Career as an actor
Deaken has been credited with appearing in only five movies and TV series, including in “13 Reasons Why”.
He made his debut TV series appearance in 2016, when cast to portray Michael in the episode “Deep Blue” of the romantic web series “Fall Into Me”, which starred Leland B. Martin, Rosie Moss and Alex Livinalli, and is about multiple love stories, each of which is shown in around eight episodes – the series gained mixed reviews and attracted little attention.
In the same year, Deaken made his debut film appearance in the short comedy “The Lion’s Den” alongside Jush Allen and Ferdelle Lauren Capistrano – the film was written by Aaron Foster, directed by Orchid Cameron and is about a blind date that goes terribly wrong.

Deaken is a philanthropist and a fighter for human rights – he is an active supporter of the movement Black Lives Matter, and has attended a peaceful protest organized in Los Angeles, during which he held up a paper with ‘Black Lives Matter’ written on it in capital letters. He has also urged people to donate money to UNICEF and Yemen, because of the Yemeni crisis which has left over 80 percent of its population without the most basic things in life.
Deaken is a lover of animals and has a pet dog, while he is a supporter of the organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
