Growing up fast

The Canadian actress Millie Davis is only 13 years old,  but has already made her way up in the film industry. She attracted a lot of media attention on 15 August 2019, when she attended the world premiere of the adventure comedy movie “Good Boys”, in which she played the supporting role as Brixlee. The young actress wore a black dress with red and pink flowers, and gave an interview to ConciergeQ about how excited and nervous she was to watch the movie on the big screen for the first time.

Millie had a lot of fun with her colleague actors and actresses, and the shooting of the movie was not hard for anyone as most of the people were very positive and easy-going. “Good Boys” follows three six-graders who manage to get a hold of stolen drugs, which they’re taking around the city while being chased by teenage girls – it won Lina Renna a Joey Award for Best Ensemble In a Feature Film. The movie received mixed reviews and we would recommend it to people who are interested in watching a nice comedy movie without having to give it much of thought.

The actress has been working a lot lately, as she is voicing Esme in the American-Canadian animated children’s series “Esme & Roy”, about Esme and her best friend Roy travelling around their made-up world with their made-up friends.

Being too young to act

Many people believe that Millie might be too young to focus on her acting career, and should do what other children her age are doing – going to school and having fun with their friends. Millie is already being homeschooled, and it’s believed that she will keep going this way until she matriculates from high school in 2024.

Millie Davis

Her parents Megan and Wayne Davis took her to appear in her first commercial when she was only six months old, and this was possible mostly because her father is an actor as well, and because he starred in the same commercial. Some people claim that the actress was somewhat pushed into the film industry in the same way as her brother Drew Davis was, as they both began acting in theatre plays at the age of five at their parents’ Charactors Theatre Troupe, located in Thornhill in Ontario, Canada.

Millie’s past roles and awards

Millie is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Ms. O in the children’s action adventure comedy film “Odd Squad: The Movie”, as she was nominated for a Best Actress Award at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2016.

It had the same cast as the “Odd Squad” series, and follows the Odd Squad whose existence is threatened by a new squad in town called ‘The Weird Team’. Millie preferred the series over the movie, and according to her interview with the PBS Network, her favorite episode was “Reindeer Games” as she had to eat a worm cake and almost threw up when she was done shooting the cake scene. She is also known for her portrayal of Summer in the Stephen Chbosky’s film “Wonder”, in which she had a chance to star alongside Julia Roberts and the child actor Jacob Tremblay, who became part of the film industry as young as she did.

According to the interview she has given at the Wonder Los Angeles World Premiere, Millie believes the movie sends a very powerful message, as it is about a girl who befriends a boy with facial differences, and who because of it is bullied by other children at school.

Another series in which you might have seen Millie is the action science fiction “Orphan Black”, in which she played Gemma Hendrix, but which isn’t as inspiring as some of the other series and movies she has appeared in. Her character is adopted by Alison and Donnie Hendrix, and is interested in soccer as well as in karate, and Gemma is very energetic as she is always running around and having fun with her brother.

The two are occasionally fighting (for fun) but their adoptive mother is there nearly all the time to stop the two from whatever they’re doing (even if they are enjoying it).

Millie’s background

Millie was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 6 December 2006, thus her zodiac sign is Sagittarius and her nationality is Canadian. Her first line in a movie was in the action film “Befriend and Betray”, released in 2011, and for which she filmed her scene just days before she turned four. Even though Millie was somewhat pushed into this world of actors and actresses, it appears as she liked it, and kept asking her parents when would she get a chance to find herself in front of the camera again.

Because she is highly social and is a very positive person, people on the sets of TV series and movies were all very kind to her, and only a year after her line in “Befriend and Betray”, she won her first voicing role in the children’s movie “The Magic Hockey Skates”, which is closely based on the eponymous children’s book by Allen Morgan. Although a rather short animated film, Millie enjoyed shooting for it, as she liked the story of a boy who is a hockey player and is using his old pair of skates as he believes these will grant him his three wishes as if these were a gold fish.

Aside from enjoying shooting for her movies and TV series, Millie is very keen on spending her free time with her friends and family. She has many friends with whom she often goes for walks or cycling through their streets, and one of her favorite things in the world is going to the theatre to watch plays, especially those which star her mother and father.

Millie is also very close to her older brother, and they have appeared alongside each other in several movies including the Damien Lee’s action thriller “A Dark Truth”, when they had the opportunity to meet the famous actor Andy Garcia, whom people may recognize as Vincent Mancini in the critically acclaimed movie “The Godfather: Part III”.

What to expect from Millie

Although we share the same opinion that Millie might be too young to be focusing on anything else rather than on studying and having fun with her peers as this is, as some say, the best time of her life when she can do whatever she wants without having many obligations, we still believe her to be a very talented actress who definitely has a future in the film industry. We will keep cheering for her so that she succeeds in whatever she decides to do in her life.
