There are numerous TikTokers who have more followers than celebrities. TikTokers develop their own followers via the video-sharing platform.

Maine-based Rochelle Hager was one of many rising stars on TikTok. However, a tragedy hit her followers when she died in a tragic car accident in March 2021. The 31-years old TikTok died after the car she was riding crashed in Farmington. She had 123k followers and over 1.2 million likes on TikTok under the username @roeurboat3. 

Hager was an executive chef at The Woodlands in Waterville. She previously worked as a chef at Amici’s Cucina. She grew up in Florida and moved to Main in August 2020. She advocated for addiction and herself was an addiction survivor. She was 10 years sober. After won her addiction battle, she went to culinary school in Florida to become a chef.

How did Rochelle Hager die?

Rising TikTok star, Rochelle Hager tragically died in a car crash near 833 Knowlton Corner Road in Farmington in March 2021. She was driving on her 2015 Nissan Rogue in Farmington when a storm that produced gusts topping 50 mph (80kph) toppled the pine tree limb. The tree limb fell onto the roof of her Nissan. Hager suffered spot death. Farmington Police Chief Kenneth Charles stated the accident as tragic and unique. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.  

Her death was confirmed by her fiance, Brittanie Lynn Ritchie. She stated, “It happened really quick. She has a phone mounted in her vent. I just heard a crash and then there was nothing. She didn’t see the tree coming. It was instant”.

The couple had plans to marry this October. Ritchie is also a TikTok star with nearly 300k followers on Tiktok. Ritchie posted several tributes to Hager. She said, “I can’t eat or sleep. All I can do is make videos and wish you were here with me #rip #myangel”. In another video, she wrote, “Thank you for showing me what true love is. Rest easy my love”.

Hager had last posted on her Instagram, a photo of her and Ritchie walking on the snow. The caption wrote, “I will forever be there to laugh with you, to lift you up when you are down, and to love you unconditionally through all of our adventures in life together.” Ritchie has two children, with whom Hager was close.

Fans also paid their tributes following Hager’s death.
