- Xavi signed for Eredivisie club PSV on a five-year contract on 28th June 2022.
- The situation changed when PSV no longer wanted a loan deal although he was initially expected to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and join PSV on loan.
- But, Paris Saint-Germain negotiated a buy-back clause worth €4 million in Simons’s contract, effective in 2023.
