Tammy was raised an only child in the US by her father who was the owner of a small car dealership, and her mother who worked at the dealership.

Terry was raised alongside his two brothers, Gary and Craig, by their mother Novis who was a housewife, and their father William Marvin ‘Bill’ Bradshaw who was a US Navy veteran, Vice President of the Riley Beaird Company, as well as a Southern Baptist layman.

Terry had already decided that he wanted to become a football player while he was still attending elementary school, and he went on to play for the Woodlawn High School team while studying there. He was also interested in various other sports, including throwing the javelin – he set a record throw of 245ft (74.68m) thus becoming featured in the magazine “Sports Illustrated”.

After matriculating in 1966, Terry enrolled at Louisiana Tech University, and played for the university’s team, and in 1969 he was rated the best college Football Player in the USA. After he stopped playing football, Terry suffered from anxiety attacks, often cried and lost a lot of weight, and was eventually diagnosed with clinical depression – since then, he has been taking the drug Paxil, apparently with no side effects, and without negative effect on his family.
