Channing Tatum Biography

Channing Tatum was born on April 26, 1980, in Cullman, Alabama, later moving to Wetumpka and then Mississippi when he was six years old. Tatum attended Gaiter High School in Tampa, Florida and transferred to Tampa Catholic High School after his sophomore year.

Tatum is the son of Kay Tatum, an airline worker, and Glenn Tatum, who was a worker in construction. He has a sister whose name is Paige. He belongs to English ancestry.

The family of Tatum shifted to the Mississippi area when he was only six years old. He raised in the bayous near the Pascagoula River, where he lived in a rural setting.

In his childhood, Tatum suffered through attention deficit disorder ADD and dyslexia, which affected his ability to do well in the school. Tatum was a good athlete in his childhood. Also, he was a good player of football, soccer, and baseball. He was also interested in m atrial arts.

Tatum spent most of his teenage years in the Tampa area, and in the start, he attended Gaither High School. His parents wanted more effort and gave him the option of selecting a private high school or going to a military school. At that time, Tatum selected Tampa Catholic High School. Where he graduated in 1988 and selected as athletic. Later he went to Glenville State College in West Virginia on a football scholarship but dropped out. He came back home and began working odd jobs.

US Weekly told that Tatum left his job as a roofer and started working as a stripper at a local club, following the name “Chan Crawford.”

In 2010, Tatum told the Australian newspaper that he wanted to make a film about his experiences as a stripper. That was the idea which resulted in the film “magic mike,” Tatum moved to Miami, where he understood by a model talent scout.

His experience in the industry of fashion began as a model working for noted clients such as Armani and Fitch. He soon joined TV commercials, landing national spots for Mountain Dew and Pepsi in the year 2002. Tatum then signed with page 305, which is a modeling agency in Miami. In an interview with Details magazine, in 2012, Tatum told that he wanted to produce all the films he stars in. In the same year, he hosted Saturday Night Live and emerged in 4 films. He co-starred in Steven’s action thriller Haywire, The Vow with Rachel, and 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill.

He featured in Magic Mike, which is a film about his eight-month experience as a male stripper in Florida. The director of the film was Steven Soderbergh.

2013-2014

Tatum reprised his role from 21 Jump Street in its sequel, 22 Jump Street, which released on June 13, 2014. In the same year, he co-starred with Steve in Foxcatcher, the story of John du Pont, who suffered from paranoid and killed Olympic wrestler Dave, the brother of the character played by Tatum, who also won Olympic gold. Tatum is set to co-produce the all-male reboot of Ghostbusters. Which produced by Sony’s new founded company, Ghost Corps.
