Who is Holly Robinson Peete?

American actress and singer Holly Elizabeth Robinson Peete was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, on 18 September 1964, meaning that Virgo’s her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 50 movies and TV series, but is perhaps still known best for playing Officer Judy Hoffs in all 102 episodes of the crime mystery series “21 Jump Street”, which starred Peter DeLuise, Dustin Nguyen and Johnny Depp, and was created by Patrick Hasburgh and Stephen J. Cannell. It follows the work of several undercover police officers, the series aired from 1987 through 1991, and won two of its four award nominations.

Holly’s still today active in Hollywood, and is currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Runnin’ with Johnson”.

Holly and her older brother Matthew Thomas Robinson III were raised in Philadelphia by their father Matthew Thomas ‘Matt’ Robinson Jr. who was an actor, screenwriter and producer, and mother Dolores who was a high school teacher; Matthew Jr. passed away on 5 August 2002, aged 65.

Holly was only four when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Sally in the 1969 episode “Ernie Erases Cookie Monster” of the animated adventure comedy “Sesame Street”, and didn’t have any roles in the following 10 years.

She studied at Greene Street Friends School, and in 1974 moved to California with her family, eventually enrolling at Santa Monica High School; Holly was 14 when she made her debut film appearance, playing Genettia Lang in the 1979 drama “Dummy”, then spent the following seven years focused on her studies, thus not appearing in any movies or TV series. She matriculated in 1982, and then enrolled at Sarah Lawrence College, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and French language in 1986; she had also spent a year studying at the University of Paris in France.

On 17 October 1997, Holly gave birth to their twins Rodney Peete Jr. and Ryan Elizabeth Peete, and to their second son Robinson Peete on 11 August 2002, followed by third son Roman Peete on 25 February 2005.
