Jennifer Ellison Biography

Jennifer Lesley Ellison is an English actress, a former glamour model, television personality, dancer, and singer. She was born on May 30, 1983, in England, UK. She received her early education from Royal Ballet School. Jennifer Ellison’s height is 5 feet and 7 inches.

She is best known for playing Emily Shadwick in the television soap opera Brookside until 2003, and as Meg Giry in the 2004 film adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera. She also starred on the reality TV show Dance Mums the UK version of the American reality TV show, Dance Moms.

She attended Broughton Hall High School, a Catholic school for girls. Then she went to St Edward College for six form. She has two younger half-sisters. Her parents, Kevin May and Jane separated in 1986. Her married again. Jennifer is close to her mother and stepfather David but estranged from her father Kevin May.

Ellison and Boxer Robbie Tickle began dating in May 2008 and were engaged in Oct of this year while on holiday in the Maldives. She married with Rob Tickle in 2009, with the ceremony which performed in Mauritius on Oct 10, 2009. She has three children. Jennifer gave birth to her 1st child on Feb 4, 2010, named Bobby by cesarean section at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. Her second baby Harry Tickle took the first breath in 2013 while she delivered her 3rd baby in 2014.

Ellison studied dance from the early age of three, first at a dance school in Liverpool, then later at the Elizabeth Hill School of dancing in St. Helens. She passed her examination with the Royal Academy of Dance and started to appear in instructional videos for the academy. She has also taken examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association and won Ballet and Modern Dance titles at the IDTA Theatre Dance Championships in 1996 and 1997, and also she awarded the Carl Alan Award for the ballet in 1998. For pursuing a career in dance, she successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Lower School. Then she left dance to seek the career of acting.

2002

In 2012, Ellison was a contestant on Dancing On Ice and made it to the semi-final stages. She currently hosts the UK version of Dance Moms on lifetime, Dance Mums with Jennifer Ellison.

From 1998 to 2003, she played the role of Emily Shadwick in the soap opera Brookside. In the year of 2003, she emerged in the travel documentary Jennifer Ellison does Thailand and in 2004, she has seen on the reality television show Hell’s Kitchen, which she then went to win. In 2005, she became part of the celebrity challenge show ‘with a little help from my friends.’

She joined BBC reality TV show The Verdict, based on a fictional courtroom, alongside the likes of Sara and Jeffery in spring 2007. The same year, she worked as a judge on Dirty Dancing- Time of your life a United States based reality show for the Living TV network. By Dec of that year, she started appearing as a guest panelist on the ITV daytime show Loose Women.

Ellison has also acted in the episodes of British TV series, The Brief, Hotel Babylon, New Street Law and The Commander. In Sep 2008, she worked in a 2-hour show, which was known as Ghosthunting with Paul O’ Grady & Friends, filmed in Sicily, with fellow Liverpudlians Paul, Philip, and Natasha.

After success in television and magazine, Ellison searched a pop music career. She released two pop-rock singles before giving this venture up for acting and glamour modeling. Her first single released in June 2008, “Baby I do not care” which peaked no. 6 in the UK singles chart. The song originally released by the Transvision Vamp in 1989. The following year, in July, after brought back into the public attention after winning Hell’s Kitchen, she released her second single “bye bye boy” which was a song originally recorded by the Japanese singer Nanase Aikawa which reached no 13 in the UK chart.

Ellison had a run in a London West End theatre version of musical Chicago in 20004 at the Adelphi Theatre and returned from July 10 to Aug 9, 2006, again playing the leading role of Roxie Hart, this time at Cambridge Theatre. She was supposed to complete on Aug 12 but compelled to pull out three days early due to a knee wound. She subsequently toured Britain in Chicago from Sep 2006 to May 2007. In Oct 2007, she joined the cast of a revival of Boeing Boeing at the Comedy Theatre, London, playing the part of Gloria, an American TWA air stewardess.

2007-2015

In Dec 2007, she featured in a 10th Anniversary Gala performance and Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre alongside a galaxy of stars. She featured in the Liverpool Empire Theatre for 2008.

In the year of 2010, she appeared at the Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent, in their pantomime Robinson Crusoe. She also remained on UK tour company of Legally Blonde The musical playing the role of Paulette.

In the year 2012, Jennifer appeared in Peter Pan at the Churchill Theatre Bromley alongside Gemma Hunt, Ace Bhatti, and Andrew Agnew.

In 2013, she cast in the Palace Theatre London. She joined to play silent movie screen siren, and owner of a voice never meant for the ‘talkies’ Lina Lamont.

Ellison cast in the pantomime of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Theatre Royal, Norwich from Dec 2015 to January 2016.
