Early life and education

Kenny was raised alongside his two brothers Lee and Dylan, in Stoughton, Massachusetts by their father Edgar K. Wormald who was a theatre actor, and their mother Melanie who was a model.

He became interested in dancing at a very early age, and after his parents noticed his passion, they enrolled him at a school for the performing arts at which Kenny practiced dancing, singing and acting. He enrolled at Stoughton High School in 1998 at which he was physically very active, as he played both football and soccer, and was a member of the school’s choir and the drama club, appearing in nearly all the plays performed at the school.

After matriculation in 2002, Kenny chose not to enroll at a college, but to move to Los Angeles in California, and focus on his acting and dancing career.

Career as a dancer

Kenny was already an avid dancer by the time he turned 13, as he won the Master Dance of New England and the title Junior Mr. Dance of New England – he won the title Teen Dancer of Boston just a year later, and a year after that became Teen Mr. Dance of New England. Kenny also had an opportunity to dance at the White House for the former President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton.

He was 18 when he competed at the World Dance Championships held in Riesa, Germany, winning it with his tap dance performance. He has appeared in many music videos of popular singers, such as Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown – he has also toured with The Pussycat Dolls and Justin Timberlake as their back-up dancer.

Career as an actor

Kenny made his debut TV series appearance in 2002, when cast to play The Dancer in the episode “Family Affair” of the comedy drama “The Drew Carey Show”, and two years later he portrayed another dancer in the musical drama movie “You Got Served”, written and directed by Chris Stokes, and which starred Omarion, Jarell Houston and Raz B – the film follows two boys who have to win a city’s dance contest if they want to open their own recording studio. It won one award and was nominated for five others.

In 2006, Kenny appeared in the critically acclaimed comedy movie “Clerks II”, written and directed by Kevin Smith and which won three awards while it was nominated for three others. The year 2015 saw him play Chris in the crime thriller film “The Girl in the Photographs”, which received mixed reviews, and in 2016, he starred as Tommy in the musical drama movie “Center Stage: On Pointe”, alongside Nicole Munoz and Barton Cowperthwaite.

Kenny’s most recent appearance has been in the 2017 drama film “High Low Forty”, written and directed by Paddy Quinn, and in which he starred as Travis alongside Geoff Stults and Jay Harrington. The divorce was finalized in 2018, after which Kenny has started dating Lauren Bennett again – in early 2020, Lauren gave birth to their daughter.

Hobbies and other interests

Kenny’s number one hobby is travelling, and his acting and dancing career has taken him all around the world. However, his favorite moment in his career was when he danced back home in Boston for his favorite artist Justin Timberlake.

Kenny is a lover of animals, with dolphins being his favorites – he has a pet dog which can occasionally be seen featured in his Instagram pictures.

He is physically very active as he has multiple training sessions at the gym each week, and is following a strict diet.
