Early Life and Career Beginnings

Susan developed an interest in acting at a young age, while growing up in nearby Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She eventually pursued it in her mid-20s, with her film debut in “Everyone Says I Love You” in 1996, in which she had the role of a dancer. The film stars Julia Roberts and Edward Norton, and is noted for the usage of actors who are not typically known for their singing ability. It is one of Woody Allen’s more critically successful films, despite it not doing well at the box office.
