Juliette was raised alongside her younger brother in France, by their father who was the owner of his own bakery, and their mother who worked at the same bakery.

Juliette grew up wanting to become an actress, but as she tested her skills at her high school’s drama club and realized she wasn’t talented enough, she concentrated on trying and become a famous model. She was noticed by a modelling scout before attending a single audition, and became a model while attending her senior year at high school. She matriculated in 2001 and chose not to pursue a college degree but to work to financially support herself, before being able to model full-time.

Juliette posed for many clothing brands and companies between 2003 and 2010, and later gained recognition in 2014 after she was featured in the music video “Cigarette Daydreams” by her husband’s band. Matt was raised alongside his older brother Brad, in Bowling Green by their father Brad Sr. who was a musician, and their mother who was a housewife – the family was very poor, and because of that, the boys’ mother divorced Brad and married Matt and Brad’s football coach. Being as poor as they were, the boys were nicknamed ‘Poor Boys’, and although Matt was an avid football player, he quit his school’s team because of his mother’s new boyfriend, and became focused on music.

His brother was a guitar player, and after he founded Cage the Elephant with Daniel Tichenor on bass guitar, Lincoln Parish on lead guitar and Jared Champion on the drums, he invited Matt to serve as their occasional guitarist.
