Marcia Harvey was born on 22 January 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio US. Her parents are from African ethnicity. Marcia’s first job was at a department store “Saks Fifth Avenue”. After divorcing her husband Steve Harvey, she started few businesses in clothing and writing. Marcia has written three books. In 2011 she published poetry book “Marcia: Eyes to the Soul”, dedicated to her marriage and life with Steve and their divorce. “Marcia: Poems from the Heart” came out the same year. In 2014 she published “Thoughts from My Mind”.

Broderick Stephen Harvey was born on 17 January 1957 in Welch, West Virginia US. He is famous entertainment, comedian, businessman and TV host. As he family moved, he was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After high-school in 1974 Steve continued at Kent State University and West Virginia University. The street in Cleveland where he lived was renamed after him in 2015.

Steve worked different jobs to support himself, from carpet cleaner, boxer, mailman and insurance salesman. He was homeless for three years. His first standup comedy performance happened in 1985. Steve participated in the Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search in 1990, so soon after he started to host “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”. Steve was noticed worldwide in 2015 when he hosted the Miss Universe contest in Las Vegas and made a mistake reading other name instead of the winner’s. However he did host the same competitions in the following years: 2016 in Philippines, 2017 in Las Vegas and 2018 in Thailand.
