Who is Trent Olsen?

Trent Olsen was born in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California USA, on 6 May 1984 – his zodiac sign is Taurus and he holds American nationality. He is a former actor, and a writer, but who is perhaps best known for being the older brother of his twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who have both become famous actresses.

Early life and education

Trent was raised alongside his twin sisters and their sister Elizabeth in Los Angeles by their father David Olsen who was a TV personality, and their mother Jarnette Olsen who was also a TV personality and a theatre actress – Trent’s sister Elizabeth is also an actress, and is probably best known for her roles in horror movies such as “Godzilla”.

Being motivated by his entire family, Trent became interested in acting at a very early age, and won his first audition at the age of five, being given a role in the comedy crime fantasy film “Tales from the Crypt”, however, his parents didn’t let him act in it. He attended a school in North Hollywood at which he practiced acting and appeared in many plays performed there. Two years after matriculation, Trent enrolled at the University of Southern California from which, according to the IMDb website, he graduated in only two years in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. More probably he started university straight after school.

Career as an actor

Trent’s first appearances were in his twin sisters’ videos, his first in 1993 at the age of nine in “The Olsen Twins Mother’s Day Special”, and then in “Our First Video” (although it wasn’t really their first video).

In 1995, Trent appeared in his sisters’ two new videos – “You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s Sleepover Party” and “The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of the Mystery Cruise” – Trent later stating how he hated his sisters’ song “Brother for Sale”, and how they often sang it to him just to tease him.

After these videos, Trent was noticed by a scout, and invited to guest star as the Boy with Flowers in the episode “Michelle Rides Again: Part 2” of the family comedy series “Full House”, created by Jeff Franklin and which starred Bob Saget, John Stamos and Dave Coulier; the story follows a broadcaster who has to raise his three daughters with the help of his brother-in-law after his wife dies. In 1996, Trent guest starred in another of his sisters’ videos “The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley: The Case of the U.S. Space Camp Mission”, and then took a seven-year break from acting before appearing in the episode “The Olsen Twins” of the documentary series “Driven”.

Also in 2003 he made an uncredited appearance in the comedy movie “Old School” which starred Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell, and is about three friends who are creating their own fraternity – the movie was a hit, and was nominated for five awards.

In 2004, Trent appeared in the episode “Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen” of the documentary series “Biography”, and then decided to stop acting for good, however, he came back in 2014 for the episode “Work Break” of the comedy series “Comedy Corner”.

Since 2014, Trent has been travelling around the US working as a writer and a photographer, for the production company Storm King Productions over several years now, and is mostly focused on writing feature movies, most of which are about vampires.

Love life and relationships

Trent met his now ex-girlfriend Kacey Style at a party when he was 22 years old – Kacey is a non-celebrity girl who became ‘popular’ on the internet only because she dated Trent. They started dating just a couple of days after meeting, and were together for several years before splitting ways for unknown reasons, however, there are rumors circulating the internet that Trent became disinterested in dating and wanted to rather focus on his career and on travelling.

Trent was introduced to American model Katherine Shaneby a mutual friend when he was 28 years old – the two were an instant match, and started dating the next day.

They have been together to this day and some people have claimed that the two married in a private ceremony in 2017, however, Trent hasn’t addressed these rumors.

As of September 2020, Trent is dating Katherine, he hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Trent was physically active during his teenage years, as he played football, baseball and basketball (his three favorite sports), and was also interested in martial arts – he began going to the gym at the age of 18, but after he started working as a writer and began travelling around, he stopped with his physical activities which is why his body is not as well-built as previously.

He can play both the piano and the guitar. Trent likes to listen to rap and pop music, with some of his favorite artists being Eminem, Lil Wayne and Michael Jackson, and he is also a fan of the late jazz singer Frank Sinatra.

He enjoys reading books while travelling – his favorite genre is romantic comedy.

Trent is very good at drawing, particularly caricatures.

Trent likes to watch movies in his spare time, and his favorite actors and actresses are Jim Carrey, Will Smith and Julia Roberts, and some of his favorite movies are “Liar Liar”, “I Am Legend” and “The Runaway Bride”.

His favorite TV series is “That ‘70s Show”, while “The Lion King” is his favorite Broadway play.

He is a philanthropist who organized a road trip which helped raise $18,000 for the research of Lou Gehrig’s Disease – Trent did this after his close friend lost his father to this disease.

Age and height

Trent’s age is 36. He has short brown hair and blue eyes, his height is 5ft 8ins (1.73m) and he weighs around 150lbs (68kgs).

As of September 2020, his net worth has been estimated at around $800,000.
