Who is Angus T. Jones?

American former actor Angus Turner Jones was born in Austin, Texas USA, on 8 October 1993, making Libra his zodiac sign. He appeared in 16 movies and TV series prior to retiring from acting in 2016, and Angus is perhaps known best for playing Jake Harper, one of the main characters in the romantic comedy series “Two and a Half Men”, created by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn, and which also starred Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer. It follows the lives of a hedonistic author and his brother, the series aired from 2003 through 2015, and won 39 of its 112 award nominations.

Since he left the film industry, Angus has been working at the multimedia and event production firm Tonite.

Education and early life

Angus and his younger brother Otto were raised in Austin by their father Kelly Charles Jones and mother Carey Lynn Claypool; not a lot else has been shared about Angus’ family, because he respects their privacy.

Angus became interested in acting at a quite early age – he was four when his parents began taking him to auditions. He made his debut film appearance in the 1999 crime drama “Simpatico”, and then continued acting while simultaneously attending school. He studied at a local high school, from which he matriculated in 2012; after he was done with “Two and a Half Men” in 2015, Angus enrolled at University of Colorado Boulder, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2019.

Roles in movies

Angus played James in the 2001 action crime comedy “See Spot Run”, directed by John Whitesell, and which starred David Arquette, Michael Clarke Duncan and Leslie Bibb. It follows a mailman who’s taking care of a dog, without knowing that it’s an FBI’s ‘drug-sniffing superdog’, and the film was nominated for only a single award.

Angus could then have been seen appearing in the 2001 romantic comedy “Dinner with Friends”, the 2002 family sports drama “The Rookie” and the 2003 comedy “Bringing Down the House”. He played one of the main characters George Jr. in the popular 2003 family adventure comedy “George of the Jungle 2”, directed by David Grossman, and which also starred Julie Benz and Christopher Showerman. It follows George and his son who’ve travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2005, Angus starred alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Rebecca Gayheart in the romantic family drama “The Christmas Blessing”, and the following year heard him narrate the short animated family drama “Diary of a Spider”.

He appeared in only one other film prior to retiring: Angus starred as Taylor in the 2013 comedy “Tuna”, which failed to attract any attention.

Roles in TV series

Angus made his debut TV series appearance in the 2001 episode “Quo Vadis” of the romantic drama “ER”; his following role came in 2008, when cast to play a supporting character in the episode “Two and a Half Deaths” of the crime mystery “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.

In 2010, he portrayed T. J. in the episode “Sweet Home Hannah Montana” of the popular musical family comedy “Hannah Montana”, created by Michael Poryes, Barry O’Brien and Richard Correll, and which starred Jason Earles, Emily Osment and Miley Cyrus. It follows the life of a teenage pop star, the series aired from 2006 through 2011, and won 20 of its 52 award nominations.

Angus appeared in the 2012 episode “Brock and Cena” of the sports show “WWE Raw”, and his only other TV series role was playing Horace the 9th in the 2016 comedy mini-series “Horace and Pete”, created by Louis C. K, who also starred in it alongside Steve Buscemi and Edie Falco. It follows the lives of two brothers, mentally ill Pete and introverted Horace, and the mini-series won two of its 13 award nominations.

Angus received special thanks for the 2008 short documentary movie “A Day in the Life of Two and a Half Men”.

He had made a guest appearance in numerous talk-shows prior to retiring from acting, such as “Big Brother”, “Taff” and “CBS Cares”.

Awards and nominations

Angus won three awards for his performance in “Two and a Half Men”: two Young Artist Awards for Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy) in 2004 and 2006, and a 2009 TV Land Award for Future Classic. He also won a 2003 Camie Award for Character and Morality in Entertainment, for his performance in “The Rookie”.

He was nominated for three other Young Artist Awards for his performance in “Two and a Half Men”, in 2002, 2003 and 2008.

Love life and relationships

Angus rarely speaks about his love life in public, but it’s known that he’s been in a relationship with American businesswoman and social media star Sarah Stalker since 2012, although some sources state since 2011.

The two were introduced by a mutual friend at a party, and went on their first date a couple of days later. Sarah’s followed by more than 70,000 people on Instagram, and has posted close to 600 pictures and videos onto the social media network, with most of these featuring her during her everyday life. She’s revealed a couple of things about herself on Instagram, including that she’s the CEO of her own company, and is an amateur photographer.

Angus hasn’t spoken of other women whom he’s perhaps been with, he’s in a long-term relationship with Sarah Stalker as of April 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Interesting facts and hobbies

Angus is a philanthropist, and on 7 June 2008 volunteered with the First Star Organization, which aims to help neglected and abused children; the same year saw him attend the charity event Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp, and the event Variety’s Power of Youth. At the 2009 Big Brothers Big Sisters Rising Star Gala, Angus was presented with the Rising Star of 2009 Award for the charity work which he had done.

He’s active on Instagram, and is followed by more than 22,000 people on the network; Angus has posted close to 400 pictures and videos, with most of these having been taken by him, as he’s passionate about photography and art in general.

Angus has his own favorite actresses and actors, some of whom are Zendaya, Emma Watson and Jim Carrey, while some of his favorite movies include “The Greatest Showman”, the franchise “Harry Potter”, and “Bruce Almighty”.

Angus’ age is 29. He has brown eyes and hair, is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) tall and weighs about 150lbs (69kgs).

Angus’ net worth’s been estimated at over $20 million ,as of April 2023, much of which he earned by starring in the series “Two and a Half Men”.
