The Net Worth of Eden McCoy
As of early-2020, Eden McCoy’s net worth is estimated to be over $1 million, earned through a successful career in acting. She’s appeared in national commercials, stage productions, and independent films during her career, and as she continues working on “General Hospital”, it is likely that her wealth will continue to rise.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
Eden grew up in the nearby Manhattan Beach, and at a young age showed a strong inclination towards athletic activities, and excelled in the sport volleyball in particular. She attended The Marlborough School in Los Angeles which is a storied institution, dating its history back to 1889. In Southern California, it is the oldest independent girls’ school, and has also been named one of the best girls’ schools in the US.
She played with the school’s volleyball team and excelled, with college scouts even showing interest in her talents.
During a summer camp, she participated in a few drama activities which built her interest in that field, and she realized that she had the potential to find a career in the entertainment industry, being so close to Hollywood in Los Angeles. She began attending auditions, and soon landed a few commercial roles, one of her first being in a commercial for Wells Fargo, and another for Valpak Coupons.
Rise to Fame – Nickelodeon
In 2011, she made her film debut in the independent feature called “Perfect Man”. Soon more opportunities started coming her way, and she was successful in auditioning for Nickelodeon, earning a spot in a couple of shows.
She worked in the comedy “The Thundermans”, appearing in a minor role alongside Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo and Chris Tallman. The show follows the story of a family who possess superhuman powers, but try to live a normal life. The show ran for four seasons.
She then worked on the comedy show “Game Shakers”, alongside Kel Mitchell, Madisyn Shipman and Benjamin “Lil’ P-Nut” Flores, Jr. The series follows two children as they create a successful video game, leading them to launch their own video game company, hiring some of their friends along the way. After her appearance in the show, she found herself doing a few stage productions, mainly working with the Los Angeles Opera.
The company is the fourth largest in the country, known for staging regular operas and other performances each year.
General Hospital
Before finding her most notable role so far, Eden had a guest role with Disney in the comedy show “Walk the Prank”, alongside Cody Veith and Bryce Gheisar, which aired on Disney XD. In 2015, she landed her biggest role in the soap opera “General Hospital” after successfully auditioning for the part. Her mother informed her that she had the role just after picking her up from school.
The medical drama is the longest-running US soap opera according to the Guinness World Records, and the second longest-running show in US television history, after “Guiding Light”. Internationally, it runs third in length after the UK’s “The Archers” and “Coronation Street”.
The show initially followed the lives of people connected to General Hospital in an unnamed city. It followed the story of two families, slowly introducing more over the years with the show expanding its reach to other locations. It received its highest ratings during the 1980s with the introduction of Luke and Laura, deemed the most popular super couple of the show. Its resilience and longevity have led it to be named one of the best television shows of all time.
Josslyn Jacks + the Decline of the Soap
McCoy plays the character of Josslyn who is the daughter of Carly Corinthos with Jax Jacks. The storyline around her character has been active since childhood, as she becomes involved with issues surrounding her parents. On one occasion, she was kidnapped by her uncle who later poisons her, leading her to a long hospitalization. As she grew up, she later had a relationship with a boy who died of brain cancer. McCoy is the longest to hold the role so far, succeeding Hannah Nordberg.
While she has been enjoying success and a regular paycheck with the show, viewers note that the soap opera is a dying genre in US television.

Out of the many that were created during the 1950s up to the 1980s, only four major soap operas remain – “General Hospital”, “Days of Our Lives”, “The Young and the Restless”, and “The Bold and the Beautiful”. This is due to a declining interest in the genre, with new fads, technology, and programming attracting viewers. Regular television broadcasts have also been seeing a slow decline following the popularity of web television services such as Netflix and Hulu. For now, there is enough interest in shows like “General Hospital” for it to continue, though it remains to be seen for how long.
Personal Life
Eden is single, and isn’t one to talk about her romantic relationships. She is busy balancing her acting career and education. She committed to playing volleyball in college, joining the University of Southern California (USC) after being scouted by them. For now, she has around a year of studying left in high school before she can join the prestigious university, supposing that her acting commitments don’t get in the way!
