Father Steve McQueen
Terrence Stephen ‘Steve’ McQueen was born on the 24th March 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William and Julia Ann McQueen. Between 1947 and 1950, he was a member of the US Marine Corps, and then began his acting career in the early 1950s. Due to his ‘antihero’ and ‘laid back and charismatic’ personality he quickly came into the limelight, and became one of most wanted and highest-rated actors of the 1960s and 1970s.
McQueen made iconic appearances in movies such as “The Magnificent Seven” (1960), “The Great Escape’ (1963) and “The Cincinnati Kid” (1965). For starring in the 1966 movie “The Sand Pebbles”, Steve earned nominations not only for the Golden Globe Award but for the Academy’s Oscar as well. Additionally, he is well remembered for his notable appearances in movies including “The Thomas Crown Affair” (1968), “Bullitt” (1968), “Le Mans” (1971) as well as “The Getaway” (1972) and “Papillon” (1973). Apart from acting Steve was also known as a car racing enthusiast, and an avid classic car collector.
McQueen passed away at the age of 50 on the 7th November 1980 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, due to heart failure after an operation to remove tumors leading to cancer, caused by what is now known as asbestosis. His ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean.

Ruby Neilam ‘Neile’ Salvador Adams is an actress, dancer and singer who was born in 1932 in Manila, Philippines, to Jose Arrista and Carmen ‘Miami’ Salvador. During WWII she served as a spy for the Philippine resistance, and even survived shrapnel wounds. In 1948 she relocated to the States where she later attended Katherine Dunham School of Dance.
Neile began her acting career on Broadway, appearing in stage plays such as “Kismet”, “The Pajama Game” and “At The Grand”. After making her debut on-screen appearance in 1952, Neile rose to prominence during the 1960s and 1970s from starring in TV series such as “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” as well as in movies including “Women in Chains” and “Fuzz”.
Racing Career
Following his passion for automotive sports, which he inherited from his father as an avid racing enthusiast, at the age of nine Chad dived into the world of dirt bike racing.
Additionally, at the age of 10, shortly after moving to car racing, he won the children-only Mini Le Mans event, recreated on the set of the 1971 Golden Globe-nominated movie “Le Mans”, featuring Steve McQueen in the main role. By the age of 12, he was already the World Mini Grand Prix Champion in his class.
He began his professional racing career as a member of the Sports Car Club of America (commonly referred to as SCCA). After honing his skills through a series of events, competing in a range of categories from motocross to the Baja 1000, in 2004 Chad teamed up with Jacky and Vanina Ickx, and led a trio of Porsche 959s at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event in West Sussex, England.
Later that year, he drove for the Westernesse Racing, and ended up fourth at the SCCA Runoffs.
In early 2006, Chad survived a severe car crash while training for the 24 Hours of Daytona event at the Daytona International Speedway. He ended up with a multiple rib fractures, broken leg and several vertebrae fractures. He fully recovered, and in November 2007 at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion III event at the Daytona International Speedway, he appeared behind the wheel of the 1975 Porsche 911 Brumos Ecurie Escargot RSR. During early 2010, Chad launched his own racing company McQueen Racing, LLC.
Acting Career
Chad’s acting career began in 1978 when he appeared in the movie “Skateboard”.
After a five-year-long hiatus, in 1983 he appeared in the drama film “Hadley’s Rebellion”. To greater prominence he came a year later, when he was cast for the role of Dutch in the 1974 Oscar-nominated martial arts drama movie “The Karate Kid”. Chad portrayed one of the most brutal students of the Cobra Kai dojo, with a possible personality disorder, and the fierce rival of the title character. He reprised the same role in the film’s sequel – the 1986 Oscar-nominated movie entitled simply “The Karate Kid Part II”. With his popularity on the rise, in 1990 Chad was cast for the main role in the action crime movie “Martial Law”, which was followed by the leading role in the 1992 action film “Death Ring”.
In 1993 Chad starred in the action crime drama movie “New York Cop”, followed by the Sci-Fi action crime film “Firepower” later that year. In the course of the following several years, Chad starred in movies such as “Number One Fan” (1995), “Red Line” (1995), “Squanderers” (1996) and “Surface to Air” (1998). His latest on-screen acting engagement occurred in 2001, when he appeared in the action movie “Fall: The Price of Silence”.
Chad also featured in several documentary movies about his father, including “Steve McQueen: The King of Cool”, “Steve McQueen: The Essence of Cool” as well as “I Am Steve McQueen” and “Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans” – for the latter two he also served as the executive producer.

Chad McQueen has married twice – between 1987 and 1990 he was married to American actress Stacey Toten, who is most famous for the 1980s movies such as “Lovelines” and “Back to School”. The couple welcomed one child together, a son named Steven R. McQueen who is also an actor and is currently most popular for starring in TV series “Chicago P.D.“, “Chicago Fire” and “The Vampire Diaries”.
Since December 1993, Chad has been married to Jeanie Galbraith with whom he has a son named Chase, born in 1995, and daughter Madison McQueen, born in 1996.
