Childhood and education
Gia was raised alongside her siblings in Los Angeles by their father who was a theatre actor, and their mother who worked as a nurse at a local hospital.
Gia and her family often watched her father perform at a local theatre, which is how she became interested in acting at a very early age.
She was a member of her elementary school’s drama club, and appeared in several plays, but it was only after enrolling at a high school and meeting other high school actors and actresses that she realised that she wasn’t talented enough, thus switched her attention to other prospects.
Gia matriculated in 1994, and although she hasn’t talked about her further education, it is believed by some that she enrolled at a college, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
Gia has been keeping her career away from the media’s attention, but it’s known that she worked with students with special needs at Los Angeles City College in the late ‘90s and the early 2000s.
It is also known that she worked as the art director on the 2006 comedy movie “The Foot Fist Way”, written and directed by Jody Hill and which starred her husband Danny, Ben Best and Mary Jane Bostic. The film follows a Tae Kwon Do instructor with marital problems, and it won Danny an Austin Film Critics Association Breakthrough Artist Award.
Gia has also been credited with working as the art department production assistant in 2009 and 2010, on 13 episodes of the sport comedy series “Eastbound & Down”, which starred her husband, Steve Little and Katy Mixon, and is about a man who comes back to his hometown and starts teaching physical education at the middle school he’d attended – it was nominated for seven awards.
Not much else is known about Gia’s career, and it’s believed that she went on to become a housewife after giving birth to her and Danny’s first child in 2011 – according to her description on Instagram, Gia is today working as a librarian.
