He’s been active in the entertainment industry since 1993, and has also worked on various films during his career.

Early Life and Education

Holiday spent a few years of her youth in Portland with a dentist father and a mother who worked as a teacher. Her father later enlisted in the US Army and with his new life, she spent a lot of time traveling across Asia with her family. Eventually, she returned to the US to continue her studies, and attended high school in Colorado.

Wanting to take a break from her studies, she then spent some time in Washington and took up an acting class there, in which she would meet her future husband, Wilson.

Afterwards she moved to Iowa, and pursued her dream in writing by enrolling at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, a creative writing program held within the University of Iowa. The program is well-known in the country, considered by many as the best program in the US, having produced numerous Pulitzer prize winners.

Career and Philanthropy

One of Reinhorn’s first notable releases is the book called “Big Cats”, published in 2005. The book is a collection of short stories, and contains a dedication to her husband.

The foundation has grown to cover 14 villages within the country, and has provided many teenage girls with scholarships.

During the start of his career, he did theatrical productions, while working as a moving van driver to help pay the bills. He appeared in numerous productions, then in 1997 made his first appearance in the soap opera “One Life to Live”, followed in 1999 by his film debut in “Galaxy Quest”, before gaining a supporting role in “Almost Famous”.

In 2003, he was cast in a regular role in the HBO show called “Six Feet Under”, attracting a lot of praise for his performance, even leading to him contributing to a Screen Actors Guild award for the ensemble. He also made numerous guest appearances, including in “Entourage”, “Monk”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”. In 2005, he had a string of film projects, including “The Life Coach” and the comedy “Sahara”.

The Success of Rainn Wilson

During the same year Wilson got his most notable role, in the television show “The Office” in which he portrayed the character Dwight Schrute, staying with the show for its entire run which lasted for eight seasons, winning numerous awards – it portrays the life of employees working in a fictional paper company, and also starred Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski.

While working on the show, the rise of his popularity meant that he gained other film projects,  including “Super”, “The Rocker”, and “Cooties”. He also did voice acting, lending his voice for “Monsters vs. Aliens”. One of his latest projects is a recurring role in “Star Trek: Discovery” which began airing on CBS in 2017. The show takes place before the original “Star Trek” show, following the story of the crew of the ship, the USS Discovery.

Apart from acting, he’s also ventured into business in writing. He is one of the founders of the company SoulPancake, and has released an autobiography called “The Bassoon King”.

Personal Life

Holiday and Rainn started a relationship in Washington in college, which eventually prompted her to settle in the area. They married in 1995 with their ceremony held at the Kalama River; they have a son together, and homes in Los Angeles and Sisters, Oregon, moving to them depending on their work needs. The couple loves pets, and own three pit bulls, a zonkey and two Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. The couple also loves doing charity work during their free time, as seen with their work in the Lide Foundation otherwise known as Lide Haiti. They have also raised funds for the Mona Foundation which helps developing countries.
